Statement of intent
My theme of weird and wonderful is surrealism, The reason why I have picked this theme is because I like the way that people can make you think twice about a picture, such as making illusions with peoples faces or maybe even with different objects. The photographer that I am going to be researching is Chema Madoz and I am hoping to possibly recreate one of my photographers work, because I like the way they have used Photoshop and the way they have thought outside the box.
The camera that I am going to be using is a cannon DSL and I am going to be using loads of techniques to make my weird and wonderful work such as white balance, rule of thirds and exposure this makes my picture a perfect picture.
The problems that I might have is problems saving my Photoshop work and also the camera will possibly break.

Weird And wonderful
Weird and Wonderful photos are unrealistic, this is why they're so eye catching. You can photograph anything and edit it into something out of this world. To come out with a striking image you have to be creative, this is the whole point you have to make it as weird and wonderful as possible.
Chema Madoz
A PHOTOGRAPHER FROM SPAIN, BORN IN 1958, CHEMA MADOZ IS RECOGNIZED FOR HIS MONOCHROME SURREALIST IMAGES. FROM 1980 TO 1983, MADOZ ATTENDED UNIVERSIDAD COMPLUTENSE DE MADRID TO STUDY THE HISTORY OF ART. DURING THIS TIME, HE DISCOVERED THE WONDERS OF PHOTOGRAPHY THROUGH HIS CLASSES AT THE IMAGE TEACHING CENTER. FROM MADRID’S FINE ARTS ACADEMY, HE STUDIED FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS AS WELL.
Chema Madoz Photos
This photo is a picture of a tree trunk with a photo of a cloud edited on as its leafs. These two objects work well together, it looks like a picture of a tree with a cloud floating by. It is a creative photo as the cloud is a similar shape to the tree. The black and white hides the fact it is a cloud and not a green tree, also this picture shows the use of Photoshop. It's a mid, the effect of the framing is the tree and the cloud cause that shot has never been taken before the tree is a dark color. The depth of field is big because its got the background in. You would have to use fast shutter speed. This shot was taken outdoors. It's a black and white shot. It's a contrast between the black of the trunk and the white if the cloud. the rule of third is the top third and two thirds at the bottom of the trunk.
Arthur Tress
I had chosen Arthur Tress because I found it very interesting, the work explored by tress are diverse, but common. Being buried alive, flying. The humiliation of failure in the classroom. Monsters looking in the bedroom window. Being lost or separated from everybody you know through a natural disaster. I like him because he takes very dark and dull pictures. He takes very close up pictures.
Picture from Arthur Tress
This is a close up image because its focusing on the child and the mother. The effect on the framing is symmetrical. The color in the image is black and white the white stands out because its hard hitting picture its a girl leaving the house and the parent standing at the door. The depth of field is a big depth of field and the shutter speed is a slow shutter speed. This shot was taken outdoors. The lighting is white and the effect is quite disturbing and quite a harsh picture. My personal opinion is I like this picture because its quite a harsh picture and its quite disturbing.
This is a close up because its focusing on the person and the cone. The effect off the framing is that its a symmetrical. The color in this image is white and black the color that stands out is white. The depth of field is a big depth of field and the shutter speed is a fast shutter speed. The shot is taken indoors. The lighting is like and old type color and the effect off this is image is quite weird. My personal opinion is I like this picture because its quite weird. The shape and lines I can see are in the middle it effects the composition because its in the middle.

Salvador dali
The artist Salvaor Dali was a surrealist artist who painted ''dreams'' or the subconscious . In this painting i can see a clock with a seaside background. the clock is melting and flowing over a hard edge. the technique Salvador Dali used is very realistic with careful derail with a smooth finish. It almost looks like it has been generated by a compute, which gives it a dream like feel.
In my opinion I really like this image because it's like saying time flies that is the meaning behind the picture however I don't like it because the subject matter does not interest me. this picture is weird and wonderful because no one has seen anything like it the idea he thought was a bit DIFFERENT. his work will inspire me to set up shots that are both weird and make you think about the image. like dali, I am going to play around with images that tap into the sub conscious.

Rene Magritte
This painting is by a surrealist artist called Rene Magritte, who like Dali painted the sub conscious.
In this painting the main focus is the tree, which is the middle of the composition and takes up the most of the canvas. The tree has a very symmetrical shape, with the tree trunk creating a hard line down the center of the painting. Magritte has painted the moon as if it is captured in the tree, he has played around with the scale so that the moon looks small and the tree big.
The background is like a dark blue colour and the tree is almost black. the bright moon against the black of the tree really makes the moon stand out.Magritte creates a contrast of light on the horizon to add interest. The painting makes me feel quite depressing because its like a dark colour and very somber. when i went to the park I seen a tree and a light and I thought about Magritte and her work so I decided to take a couple of pictures with the light and the tree.

photoshoot 1
worst photo
This is my worst picture because when I took the picture I moved Slightly and it was out of focus and I was a little bit blurry so it was over exposed.
best photo
I like this photo because its not out of focus and its not over exposed. You can also see the reflection on the table.

plan for my next photoshoot
I've been thinking about what I have been doing. I was happy with taking pictures with objects but i wanted to do something different with people like I need a model I am going to make him spread his arms out and make fire come out from them and make it come out his body. I am going to do it in school and outside in the backyard i am going to use haseeb as my model.
Photoshoot 2
I have taken these images as I am going to use photoshop to add fire flames to his hands. I made him put his hands like that because I thought it would look better and it would look good. He had his head down because he didn't want his face in the shoot.

photoshoot 3
Edited photo
I done these on Photoshop. first I rotated the canvas then I layered the two images together. after that I used the opacity tool to allow me to see the image underneath. Then I used the eraser tool to crop out the pineapple to see the melon.

final evaluation
The project theme is weird and wonderful. i enjoyed the the topic because i got to explore THINGS on photoshop and that made my page more interesting. i also think it was a good theme to try out different techniques and ideas.
I ENJOYed it when we went to the park the most because when we went to the park i took some images of the light and trees that linked to the work of rene magritte.i manged to capture the idea of day and night together which fitted in with the theme. i have been able to experience new things on photoshop like putting the images TOGETHER and using filters, lighting effects and layers to develop my work further.
I would like to develop merging photos together further because i thought it was a good idea to do and it GIVES YOU good outcomes. i am going to try and do this on my next project where needed.
I researched chema madoz and Arthur tress. they have influenced my photographs by making me think about how to capture INTERESTING pictures and more eye catching photos i also used black and white that links in with there work.
The technique i enjoyed the most is when i put the pineapple behind the watermelon because it was very effective and i think it was a good outcome. i like it because you have to look twice at the image before you REALIZE something is not quite right, this makes it weird and wonderful.
